OMAHA, Neb. -- The Bellevue University women's soccer team claimed their second-straight MCAC Tournament title with a 3-0 shutout over Oklahoma Wesleyan University Saturday afternoon at Tranquility Park.
The Bruins improved to 14-4 on the season and will now head to Helena, Mont. on Nov. 10-12 to compete in the NAIA Unaffiliated Tournament on the campus of Carroll College.
Senior Erika Roberts scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season at 15:09 with a shot from inside the box past the Eagles' attacking goalkeeper Kelli Crawford. Morgan Anderson was credited with the assist.
The Bruins added an own goal at 60:48 when the ball deflected off two Eagles into the net following a corner kick from Amy Stigge.
Jessica Damery extended the lead to 3-0 in the 72nd minute with a header from the top of the box that sailed over Crawford's head.
Ana Price improved to 13-3 on the season, playing 72 minutes in goal while collecting two saves.
The Bruins outshot OWU, 21-2 and held an 8-2 advantage in shots on goal.
