Bethany shuts out Bruins, 2-0

LINSBORG, Kan. -- Despite outshooting Bethany College 24 to 4, the Bellevue University women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to the Swedes Friday afternoon in Linsborg, Kan.

With the loss, the Bruins fall to 3-3 on the season while Bethany improves to 4-4 overall.

BC scored the first goal of the match with just 3:18 remaining in the first half on an unassisted goal by Megan Xavier.

The Swedes added an insurance goal at 76:15 in the second half to give BC the 2-0 win.

Paige Wischmann led the Bruin offense, unloading a career-high 10 shots, two on goal. Jenica Bloom also tallied five shots, while Rebecca Fairfax and Mollee Collins each recorded two shots.

Ana Price suffered the loss, falling to 3-2 on the season. Sarah Garlock recorded seven saves in the match to come away with the shut out win for the Swedes.

The Bruins will travel to Wichita, Kan. on Saturday, Sept. 25 for a 12 p.m. match at Friends University (1-4).
