Collins' late goal gives BU win in 2 OTs

OLATHE, Kan. -- Sophomore Mollee Collins scored with 23 seconds remaining in the second overtime to give the Bellevue University women's soccer team a dramatic 2-1 victory at MidAmerica Nazarene University Friday afternoon at Pioneer Field.

With the win, the Bruins improved to 3-2 on the season. MNU fell to 3-2 overall. Bellevue has now won both overtime games it has played this season.

Collins' goal was the first of her Bruin career.

The Pioneers' Alyssa Howard scored the only goal of the first half at 33"2- to give MNU a 1-0 halftime advantage.

Alyssa Porter scored her first career goal to tie the game at 70:54. Neither team scored again until Collins' game-winner.

Freshman Ana Price recorded the win, playing all 109:37 in goal. She collected eight saves on the day.

The Pioneers outshot Bellevue 26-9 and held a 9-5 advantage in shots on goal.

Saturday's match at Baker University has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions. No makeup date has been set.

The Bruins will travel to Lindsborg, Kan. next Friday, Sept. 24 for a 3 p.m. match at Bethany College.
