Late Bulldog goal nips Bruins, 2-1

OMAHA, Neb -- Carolyn Chrzan's goal with 2:51 remaining gave Concordia University a 2-1 victory over Bellevue University Sunday night in non-conference women's soccer action at Tranquility Park.

Bellevue fell to 2-2 overall with the loss, while Concordia improved to 4-2.

Concordia scored first in the 20th minute on a header by Molly Humlicek following a free kick by Jamie Sanchez.

The Bruins tied it up 59 secconds into the second half when Meredith Shuman moved the ball past Bulldog goalkeeper Ariel Harris and shot the ball into the open net from five yards out.

Chrzan's goal followed a shot off the crossbar by Chrzan and then a pass off the rebound from Jordan Donohoue back to Chrzan who shot the ball past Bruin goalkeeper Ana Price into the lower left corner of the goal.

Concordia outshot the Bruins 9-8 and both teams had six shots on goal.

Price recorded four saves in the loss.

The Bruins will travel to Olathe, Kan. on Friday, Sept. 17 for a 3 p.m. match at MidAmerica Nazarene University.
