Nicolarsen signs Omaha South's Estrada
Bruin women's soccer coach Andy Nicolarsen announced today the signing of Yaritza Estrada (Omaha, Neb./South HS) to a letter of intent to join the Bellevue University women's soccer program for the 2011 season.

Estrada is the daughter of Jesus and Concolacion Estrada and sister of former Bruin men's soccer player Julio Estrada and Valeria Estrada. Estrada will join the Bruin program this fall from Omaha South High School and looks to help the Bruins compete for a second-straight trip to the NAIA National Tournament.

A four-year varsity starter for the Packers and a first team all-Metro Conference selection, Estrada led the state in class A in scoring in both her junior and senior seasons. She recorded 25 goals and 14 assists as a junior and added 30 goals and 12 assists in her senior campaign.

Estrada spent her early club years playing for her father Jesus Estrada before moving to the Omaha Futbol Club (OFC) where she played for club director Alex Mason. While playing for OFC, her team won numerous state cups and will compete at regions again this summer. She is also a member of the 1993 Nebraska ODP team.

In addition to her accolades on the field, Estrada is also an exceptional student and will study Business Administration while attending Bellevue. “Yari is exactly the type of player we like to recruit. She excels in the classroom, on the field and is an excellent teammate and person to have in the program. We are thrilled that she chose to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue,” stated coach Nicolarsen.
