Women's soccer signs Gelecki

Bruin head women's soccer coach Andy Nicolarsen announced the signing today Michaela Gelecki (Omaha, Neb./Buena Vista/Millard West HS) to a national letter of intent to continue her athletic and academic careers at Bellevue University beginning in the fall of 2010.

Gelecki is currently attending the University of Nebraska at Omaha after playing one season at Buena Vista University in 2008.

Originally from Omaha and a graduate of Millard West High School, Gelecki was an academic all-state selection in soccer and two-year varsity team captain.

Gelecki was a member of the 2007 Nebraska Class A state championship team at Millard West and part of two State Cup championships with her club team Gladiator Tango.

"Michaela is a very smart player with a great soccer background at the highest levels of competition and will have an immediate impact on the field next year for the Bruins," said Nicolarsen.
