Rob Brown

Rob Brown became Bellevue University’s first golf coach in 2010 and has won back-to-back MCAC Coach of the Year honors.

This season, Brown led the Bruins to their second-straight NAIA National Tournament appearance after winning eight team tournament titles in 2012-13.

In their inaugural season, Brown guided the Bruins to eight top five tournament finishes, including the 2012 MCAC Tournament championship and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament.

A native of Omaha, Brown has taught golf and been a golf professional for nearly 40 years. He spent 2009-10 teaching golf in South America and working with PGA great Al Gieberger.

Brown was the director and head golf professional at Wakonda Club in Des Moines from 1993-2004. He served the same role at Minikahda Club in Minneapolis, Minn. from 1978-1989.
Brown also served as the Director of Instruction at Stone Eagle Golf Club in Palm Desert, Calif. from 2005-2009.

An accomplished golfer, Brown was the 2008 Nebraska Senior PGA champion. He qualified for the 1997 U.S. Senior Open and the 1996 PGA Senior Championship. Brown was a five-time Iowa PGA Senior champion. He captured the 1995 Iowa State Open and was named the 1995 Iowa Senior Player of the Year.

Brown is married to the former Ann Thompson. The couple resides in Omaha.
