MADISON, S.D. -- For the third time this season and the sixth time in her Bruin career, junior Maria Pinedo has earned North Star Athletic Association Women's Golfer of the Week honors for her performance at last week's Nebraska Intercollegiate played at the 5,999-yard, par-72 Awarii Dunes Golf Club in Axtell, Neb.
Pinedo was the top NAIA golfer in the event, finishing in a tie for fifth place with rounds of 84 and 76. She helped guide the Bruins to a third-place finish behind NCAA II squads Nebraska-Kearney and Wayne State.
Pinedo's final round was highlighted by 14 pars and a birdie.
Pinedo currently leads the Bruins with a 77.8 strokes-per-round average on the season.
Bellevue plays its final fall tournament Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 16-17, in Silvis, Ill. at the TPC Deere Run Invitational played at TPC Deere Run.
