Bruins finish third at Nebraska Intercollegiate

AXTEL, Neb. -- All five Bruin golfers improved upon their first round scores Saturday afternoon as the Bellevue University women's golf team finished third at the Nebraska Intercollegiate Championship.

Maria Pinedo was the top Bruin finisher at the event. Pinedo dropped eight strokes in the second round as she tied for fifth.

Brooke King of Nebraska-Kearney won the individual title, coming in at 156 (+14), one stroke ahead of teammate Allison Comer.

Chloe Blandinieres also logged a top ten finish, following a second round 82 for a two-day total of 167.

Megan Harty knocked strokes off her first round score to move up to 17th place.  I.Y. Ibnu and Aaricia Noel-Traissac tied for 13th shooting 84 and 83, respectively on Saturday.

Blandinieres and Noel-Traissac each birdied a pair of holes on Saturday while the three other BU golfers each birdied No. 11.

Nebraska-Kearney took the team title with a 36-hole total of 643. Wayne State finished second, 10 strokes back, with Bellevue coming in third with a score of 676. Doane (738), Concordia (740), and Hastings (757) rounded out the field.

Bellevue plays their final fall tournament Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 16-17 in Silvis, Ill. At the TPC Deere Run Invitational at TPC Deere Run.
