Pinedo, Saifoloi prop Bruins to second after day one at WWU Spring Invite

FULTON, Mo. -- Maria Pinedo (+6) and Tylah Saifoloi (+7) both find themselves inside the top 10 and have the Bellevue University women's golf team in second place after one round of play at the William Woods Spring Invitational.

Mount Mercy leads the field at 22-over (310), 11 strokes ahead of the second place Bruins. Lincoln University lurks close behind in third at 36-over (324) with Central Methodist (329) and Evangel (333) rounding out the top five.

Mount Mercy teammates Breanna Felderman and Kirsten Miller are tied atop the leaderboard at 3-over apiece through 18 holes at the 5,851-yard, par 72 Tanglewood Golf Course.

With Pinedo tied for fifth and Saifoloi in a tie for eighth, the Bruins have to golfers inside the top 10 at the 82-player event.

Megan Harty sits in a tie for 15th at 9-over (81) while Aaricia Noel-Traissac is tied for 21st at 11-over (83). I.Y. Ibnu, BU's fifth golfer, finds herself in a tie for 25th overall at 12-over (84).

Second round play tees off tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
