Bellevue captures Bruin Spring Break Invite title

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -- After shooting an identical team score to Saturday's first round, the Bellevue University women's golf team, led by senior Allison Temple, captured the team title Sunday in the Bruin Spring Break Invite being played at the 5,850-yard, par-72 Landa Park Golf Course.

Bellevue finished with a team score of 636 with rounds of 318 and 318. BU edged second-place Ottawa (Ariz.) University by two strokes as the Spirit bettered its first-round total by 14 strokes (326-312 -- 638). 

Temple shot BU's top round on the day with a 6-over 78 to finish the tournament at 8-over par (74-78- -152). She finished second in the 30-player field. 

Wayland Baptist's Laura Klimova was the individual champion at 4-over par for the tournament with rounds of 73 and 75. 

Sophomore Tylah Saifoloi fired a 7-over 79 and finished the tournament at 15-over par which put her in a tie for seventh place. 

Sophomore Shanice DeGee also tied for seventh with rounds of 77 and 82. 

Rounding out the Bruins' scoring was senior Dominika Gradecka who fired a 7-over 79 on Sunday, finishing with a 36-hole total of 22-over par (87-79 -- 166). 

The Bruins will be back in action on Mar. 29-30 at the TPC Deere Run Classic in Moline, Ill.
