Mercedees Morgan joined the BU women’s basketball coaching staff prior to the 2018-19 season after a distinguished playing career at the University of Northern Iowa.

With the Panthers, Morgan appeared in 91 career games and scored 300 career points. Her best season came as a sophomore when she averaged 7.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game and connected on 46.3 (FG%), 35.6 (3-FG%), 81.8 (FT%) of her shot attempts while dishing out a career-high 63 assists, swiping 18 steals, and blocking 10 shots. She netted career-highs of 15 points (Nov. 11, vs. Colorado State), 10 rebounds (Dec. 4, at Green Bay), and five assists (Nov. 26, vs. Youngstown State) all during her senior season.

While at UNI; she helped lead the Panthers to a pair of Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championships (2010, 2011), an MVC Regular-Season Championship (2011), two NCAA Tournament Appearances (2010, 2011), and a WBI Tournament Runner-Up Finish (2012).

Morgan, an Omaha-native, graduated from Bellevue East High School before going on to play Division I basketball at Northern Iowa. Morgan graduated with a degree in Sports Psychology and minored in Coaching. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Sports Management.

During her high school playing days at Bellevue East, Morgan earned all-conference and all-state honors three times, each year from 2007-2009. She twice led the Chieftains to the State Tournament in, 2007 and 2008, and averaged 15.0 points per game during her senior season.
