Cuffe named NSAA Player of the Week

MADISON, S.D. -- Senior forward Morgan Cuffe (Lakeville, Minn.) has been named the North Star Athletic Association's Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performances in the Bruins' two non-conference games last week against ranked opponents.

Cuffe averaged 16.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 steals per game as Bellevue went 1-1 on the week versus two top-15 ranked opponents.

She scored 16 points, grabbed six rebounds, recorded two blocks and stole the ball twice in the Bruins' 78-76 victory over No. 13-ranked Dordt (Iowa) last Tuesday. She was 8-of-9 from the free-throw line, leading the Bruins to their first-ever victory over a top-15 team in school history.

Cuffe followed up that performance with 16 points as the Bruins were edged, 78-74, at No. 8-ranked Morningside College last Saturday in Sioux City.

For the week, she was 8-of-17 from the field (47.1 percent) and converted 16-of-19 free throws (84.2 percent).

The Bruins will host the Fairfield Inn & Suites Bruin Classic on Dec. 28-29 in the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
