MADISON, S.D. -- For the second-straight week and third time in her BU career, sophomore Elexis Martinez has been named the North Star Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office.

Martinez turned in another dominant week in helping the Bruins win two of their three games, including knocking off (RV) Oklahoma Wesleyan University in come-from-behind fashion. She averaged 20.0 points and 7.7 rebounds per game on the week while knocking down shots at a 64.5 percent clip and sinking 71.4 percent of her free throw attempts.

She was an efficient 4-of-6 from the floor and 2-of-3 at the line in a 118-81 win over College of St. Mary on Monday as she scored 10 points and pulled down three rebounds.

She scored a career-high tying 25 points in back-to-back games against Midland and Oklahoma Wesleyan. Against Midland she was 9-of-15 from the field and 7-of-9 at the charity stripe, narrowly missing a double-double as she finished with nine rebounds.

Trailing OKWU by nine at halftime, she scored 12 of her game-high 25 points in the third quarter to turn the game in BU's favor. She was 4-of-5 from the floor and 4-of-4 from the line in the period. She finished the game 7-of-10 from the field and 11-of-16 at the line and added 11 rebounds for the second double-double of her career.

For the season Martinez averages 20.0 points and 6.6 rebounds to lead the team in both statistics. She also leads the club in field goal percentage (66.0 percent) and free throws made (30) while hitting at a 68.2 percent clip from the line.

Martinez was previously named NSAA Player of the Week on Nov. 20, 2017 and Oct. 29, 2018.
