MADISON, S.D. -- Bellevue University sophomore Elexis Martinez (Omaha, Neb./NW Missouri State/Omaha Central HS) has been named the North Star Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office.

Martinez averaged 20.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game as the Bruins won a pair of games at the OKWU Classic. She shot 68.2 percent from the floor, making 15 of her 22 attempts and was 10-of-16 at the charity stripe.

She scored a game-high 22 points in the Bruins' 123-39 win over Central Christian College of the Bible and shot a program-record 81.8 (9-11) percent from the field.

The award is the second of Martinez's career after previously earning the honor Nov. 20, 2017.

Bellevue plays their home-opener at 5 p.m. on Monday evening against College of St. Mary at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center. The Bruins will also host Midland (Thursday, 7 p.m.) and Oklahoma Wesleyan (Friday, 1 p.m.) in the BU/NCC Classic.
