KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Senior Caletria Curtis became the first All-American in Bellevue University women's basketball history today when she was named an honorable mention selection to the NAIA Women's Basketball Division II All-American teams. 

Earlier this season, Curtis became the first women's basketball player in school history to earn first-team all-North Star Athletic Association honors. She led the 2017-18 Bruins with 13.0 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. 

In conference games, Curtis averaged 14.3 points and 8.9 rebounds per contest. She is the only player in the NSAA who led her team in scoring, rebounding, assists (88), steals (51), and double-doubles (7). Twice this season (Jan. 15, Feb. 5) she was recognized as the NSAA Player of the Week which brought her career total to four.

The Bruins wrapped up the 2017-18 season with a 19-14 overall record and an 11-5 mark in the NSAA, earning the three-seed in the NSAA Tournament. Bellevue received votes in the final Coaches' Top 25 Poll released ahead of the National Tournament.
