VERMILLION, S.D. -- A balanced offense and big advantage on the glass gave the University of South Dakota all the advantages they needed as the Coyotes defeated the Bellevue University women's basketball team 89-32 on Wednesday evening at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.

The game was considered an exhibition for the Bruins while South Dakota is counting it toward their overall record as they improve to 4-3 on the season.

South Dakota built a 21-10 lead by the end of the first quarter and Bellevue trailed 43-15 at the half. Caletria Curtis was a bright spot for the Bruins scoring seven points and knocking down a pair of three pointers while also grabbing two rebounds.

Four Coyotes – Allison Arens, Madison McKeever, Taylor Frederick, and Chloe Lamb – had eight points apiece to lead all scorers at the intermission. Both Arens and Jasmine Trimboli pulled down six rebounds each for USD.

South Dakota out-scored BU 29-8 in the third quarter to push their lead to 71-24 before going on to the 89-32 win.

Curtis finished with team-highs of 12 points and five rebounds for Bellevue. Morgan Cuffe and Beth Walker each scored five points.

Frederick finished with game-highs of 18 points and nine rebounds off the bench for the Coyotes. Claudia Kunzer (11) and Monica Arena (10) joined her in double figures as all 11 Coyotes that saw action scored with 10 of 11 pouring in at least five points.

USD out-shot BU 44.9-21.3 percent and out-rebounded the under-sized Bruins 56-23 on the evening.

Bellevue returns home on Saturday, Dec. 2 when they host Viterbo University at 3 p.m. in their NSAA-opener at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
