BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The University of Jamestown took advantage of 28 BU turnovers as the No. 11-ranked Jimmies defeated Bellevue University, 68-37, Saturday afternoon in the North Star Athletic Association women's basketball action at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.

Jamestown, which has now won 35-straight conference games, improved to 21-4 overall and 14-0 in the NSAA. Bellevue fell to 14-14 on the season and 7-7 in league play.

Angeliece Tucker led the Bruins with 11 points and six rebounds. She was the lone Bruin in double figures.

McKayla Orr (11) and Jory Mullen (10) combined for 21 points to lead the UJ offense.

The Jimmies scored 38 points off of BU turnovers and held a commanding 30-16 advantage in points in the paint.

Despite outshooting the Jimmies, 50 to 33.3 percent, UJ grabbed a 21-16 lead after the first quarter, thanks in part to a 6-of-6 performance from the charity stripe. Orr led UJ in the first quarter with eight points and three rebounds. Tucker paced BU with six points in the opening 10 minutes.

A 3-pointer by Ryleigh McCartney got the Bruins to within three points at 26-23 with 5:20 left before halftime. The Jimmies responded with an 11-0 run to close the half, taking a 37-23 lead into the intermission.

After trading baskets for the majority of the third quarter, UJ closed the period on an 8-1 run to take a 50-30 lead heading into the final stanza.

The Jimmies scored the first six points of the fourth quarter to push the lead to 26 points and the Bruins never got closer than 24 points as UJ cruised to the 68-37 victory.

The Bruins travel to Madison, S.D. next Friday, Feb. 17 for a 5:30 p.m. NSAA contest at Dakota State University.
