Teran, Ashley earn NSAA weekly honors

Freshman outfielder Ashlyn Teran was named the North Star Athletic Association's Player of the Week and junior Monique Ashley was named the NSAA Pitcher of the Week for their performances in the Bruins' four conference victories. 

Teran batted .583 on the week and had an impressive 1.083 slugging percentage as the Bruins captured a pair of victories over Dakota State and Dickinson State. She had at least one hit in all four games. 

In BU's 9-1 victory of Dakota State, Teran went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. She finished 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI while scoring two runs in the Bruins' 11-5 victory over Dickinson State. 

Teran launched her first career home run in Bellevue's 7-4 win over Dickinson State on April 14. 

She is currently batting .379 on the season with a team-leading 14 doubles. 

Ashley went 2-0 on the week with one save. She compiled an impressive 0.66 ERA in 10 2/3 innings pitched while adding 17 strikeouts. In her two games pitched on Sunday against Dickinson State, Ashley allowed just one hit while striking out nine, earning a save in the opener and the win in the nightcap. 

Ashley leads the Bruins with 108 strikeouts on the season and is second with a 2.19 ERA. 

The Bruins will conclude their four-game series at Dickinson State today with a noon doubleheader at the North Softball Complex in Dickinson.
