MADISON, S.D. -- Junior right-handed pitcher Brieanna Brock was named the North Star Athletic Association's Pitcher of the Week for her performances last week in helping BU to a 7-1 record, including a four-game conference series sweep at Viterbo.
Brock went 2-1 last week and also registered a save. She recorded two complete-game shutouts and 29 total strikeouts in 17 innings pitched. In the Bruins' 2-0 shutout victory over Mount Marty, Brock allowed just two hits and no walks, while striking out a season-high 14 batters.
In Sunday's 3-0 victory at Viterbo, Brock tossed a one-hitter with one walk and 12 strikeouts in the complete-game victory.
Brock also picked up a save on Sunday in the Bruins' 2-1 series-closing win over the V-Hawks.
On the season, Brock leads the team with an 8-2 record and is second with 80 strikeouts.
The Bruins will travel to Valley City, N.D. on Saturday-Sunday, April 6-7, for a crucial four-game conference series at ninth-ranked Valley City State University.
