BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The University of Jamestown scored early in both games and never trailed as they completed a four-game North Star Athletic Association series sweep of the Bellevue University softball team on Sunday afternoon at the Lied Center.

Winners of 12 of their last 13 ball games Jamestown improves to 24-4 (7-1 NSAA) while Bellevue now sits at 17-15 (3-5 NSAA).

Bellevue is next scheduled to play a double-header at the College on Saint Mary on Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Game One: Jamestown 6, Bellevue 2

Jamestown jumped out to a 3-0 first inning lead and never looked back en route to taking a 6-2 win in game three of the series. Morgan Geiszler singled in a pair of runs in the frame and Tiffany Buis brought home another with a base knock.

The Jimmies extended their lead when Mikayla Frost homered over the center field fence in the second.

A run each in the fourth and fifth innings made it 6-0 in favor of Jamestown.

Bellevue got a pair of runs back in the sixth when Kayla Young was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Maddie Siedlik chased in a run with a sac fly.

Brittany Rheault (8-2) earned the win with five solid innings of work in which she limited BU to two runs on five hits.

Erin Sharpe took the loss for Bellevue, falling to 7-2 on the year.

Sarah Zeleny accounted for three of Bellevue's six hits in the ball game.

Game Two: Jamestown 5, Bellevue 2

Jamestown again got off to a fast start in game two, scoring four runs in the first two frames, on their way to recording a 5-2 win to complete the series sweep of Bellevue.

Tifani Schorzman singled in the game's first run in the first inning, scoring Emma Keller.

In the second Keller delivered an RBI-single and Kelly Halverson knocked in a pair with a base hit.

Bellevue got on the board with a pair of runs in the fourth thanks to a bases loaded walk to Maddie Siedlik and an RBI-single by Sayde Woten.

Jamestown answered back with a run in the bottom half of the frame on Halverson's two-out RBI-single.

Kat Miska (6-1) picked up her second win of the series as she scattered seven hits in a 12-strikeout performance.

Myah Boehnke (0-2) was charged with the loss.
