LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced, earlier this month, the National Rankings for the NFCA's Top 10 Academic Team rankings for the 2016-17 school year.

Bellevue ranked among the Top 25 nationally, placing 24th, for their achievements in the classroom after posting a GPA of 3.39 as a team. Following the conclusion of the 2017 season, 14 softball student-athletes were named North Star Athletic Association Scholar-Athletes.

The Bruins posted a 50-16 (20-6 NSAA) overall record in the 2017, reaching the NSAA Championship Series and qualifying for the NAIA National Tournament.

BU had nine individuals named Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athletes: Hannah Carter, Kelli Fisher, Kaitlyn Goney, Emily Miller, Courtney Schendt, Alex Tooley, Sayde Woten, Kayla Young, and Sarah Zeleny.

The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across seven membership divisions; NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, Junior College, High School (Unweighted), and High School (Weighted)
