LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has announced their 2017 NAIA All-Region Teams. Four Bellevue University softball players were selected to the first team in the Central Region.

The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's six regions. NFCA member coaches from each respective region vote on the teams and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to the 2017 NFCA NAIA All-American teams.

The NFCA NAIA All-America teams will be announced next week after the conclusion of the 37th Annual NAIA Softball World Series.

The four BU players selected were senior pitcher Kelli Fisher, sophomore third baseman Erin Sharpe, freshman outfielder Hannah Carter, and senior outfielder Sydney Robertson.

Bellevue wrapped up the 2017 campaign with a 50-16 overall record. The Bruins went 20-6 in NSAA play, took home the regular-season crown, and reached the NSAA Championship Series. For their efforts BU earned an at-large bid to the NAIA National Tournament and were tabbed the No. 23 team in the final Coaches' Poll.
