MADISON, S.D. -- The North Star Athletic Association has announced its fourth edition of the softball weekly honors Monday. Bellevue swept the weekly award program with Lexi LeCalsey collecting Pitcher of the Week accolades.
LeCalsey turned in arguably three of her best performances of the season this past week. She went the distance in both of her starts in the circle and earned the win in all three outings. Over the course of 18.2 innings of work she posted a 0.75 ERA and struck out 19 batters against just five walks.
The award is the first of her Bruins career for LeCalsey, a junior transfer student, as she limited opponents to just a .154 average and recorded a WHIP of 0.80.
The Bruins have won 19 of their last 20 games overall, sit at 27-8 overall, and own an 8-2 mark NSAA play as they are tied atop the conference standings with Jamestown but a game ahead in the loss column. Bellevue is scheduled to return to action on Thursday, Apr. 6 with a 5 p.m. double-header at Midland in Fremont, Neb.
