MADISON, S.D. -- In an announcement made today by the conference office, senior Kelli Fisher was named the North Star Athletic Association's (NSAA) Pitcher of the Week. It marked the first time this season and the fourth time in her career that Fisher has earned the weekly award.
Fisher was tremendous in the pitching circle for the Bruins last week. She notched a perfect 5-0 record with a save for the week and allowed a total of three earned runs in 34 2/3 innings of work for a tidy 0.61 earned run average (ERA).
Fisher struck out 33 batters against just one walk on the week. Among her victories was a complete game, 10-strikeout performance in a 6-3 win over No. 2-ranked St. Xavier (Ill.). Fisher closed the week by not allowing an earned run in her final 22 innings of work.
Bellevue is currently 18-7 on the season and 4-2 in conference action. The Bruins will open the home portion of their schedule with a 4 p.m. doubleheader on Wednesday, March 15, against the University of Saint Mary (Kan.) at the Lied Activity Center Field.
