Fisher earns softball Pitcher of the Week honors

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Junior pitcher Kelli Fisher (Yutan, Neb.) has been named the North Star Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week. The announcement came earlier today.

Fisher was again superb in the circle for the Bruins helping BU to a 7-1 mark on the week with all eight games coming against league opposition. In her seven appearances she posted a 5-1 record and recorded a save while putting up an earned run average of 1.17.

For the week Fisher worked 36.0 total innings and recorded 30 strikeouts against just three walks for an incredible 10:1 strikeout to walk ratio. Opponents hit just .237 off her managing just a 1.000 WHIP in the circle.

On the season Fisher is now 11-8 with a 1.47 ERA in 118.2 innings of work which spans 21 appearances, including 18 starts. She has struck out 100 batters and issued just 20 walks which has helped her post a WHIP of just 0.952.

The Bruins (15-13), winners of seven straight, is back in action with road games at York (Tuesday) and Midland (Thursday) before returning to the friendly confines of the Lied Center for a four-game set against Mayville State on Saturday and Sunday, Apr. 9-10. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
