FAYETTE, Mo. -- Eighth-ranked Central Methodist University scored a pair of unearned runs in the top of the eighth inning to claim a 4-2 win over Bellevue University Wednesday afternoon at the NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round - Fayette Bracket. 

The loss ended the Bruins' 2015 season with a 41-14-1 record. The Eagles (44-8) advanced to the NAIA Softball World Series in Sioux City, Iowa on May 22-28. 

Shelby Kindelin, Ashley Gigax and Sayde Woten each collected two hits in the loss. 

Senior Taylor Mohler surpassed Amanda Neumann's 2011 strikeout total of 240, finishing with three strikeouts, giving her 243 for the year, setting the Bruins' single-season mark. 

Kindelin led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo homer to center field to give the Bruins an early 1-0 lead. 

The Eagles tied it up in the top of the third on an RBI single to shallow right center field by Bri Boatwright. 

A one-run single by Alex Tooley in the bottom of the third helped the Bruins regain the lead at 2-1. 

Nikki Giovenco's RBI double to left center field tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the sixth inning. 

The Eagles scored two runs off a Bruin fielding error to grab a 4-2 advantage in the top of the eighth frame. 

Reliever Jocie Glaze retired the side in the bottom of the eighth to preserve the Eagle victory. 

Kelli Fisher suffered the loss, giving up two runs on three hits in 2 1/3 innings of relief.
