BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Senior Taylor Mohler finished on the winning end of a pitcher's duel as the Bellevue University softball team shut out Oklahoma Wesleyan University, 1-0, Thursday night in the MCAC Tournament at Hall of Fame Fields.

The win advances the Bruins to the MCAC championship game on Friday at 2:30 p.m. Bellevue (38-11-1) will face the winner of the noon game between Central Baptist and Oklahoma Wesleyan.

Mohler, who struck out five of the first six Eagle batters, tossed a complete-game one-hitter with 11 strikeouts and just one walk in seven innings in the circle.

Mohler's counterpart, Jenna Daniel, scattered just three hits with seven strikeouts and two walks in the losing effort.

The only run of the game came in the top of the third inning on an RBI single to left field by Ashley Gigax that drove in Shelby Kindelin who doubled to right center earlier in the inning.

A single to left field by Desiree Cavazos in the bottom of the sixth spoiled Mohler's no hitter. Cavazos stole second to become the Eagles' only base-running threat in the game. Mohler ended the threat by striking out Heather Jones in the next at bat.
