BELLEVUE, Neb. – The Bellevue University softball team, by virtue of their Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference North Division Crossover sweep and victory over Waldorf College today, now has their longest winning streak since winning 16 straight from Mar. 16-Apr. 6 in 2013.

The Bruins started the day by taking down Oklahoma Wesleyan University 4-2 before defeating Haskell Indian Nations University 8-0, and closing out the day by wrapping up their previously suspended game with an 8-0 win over Waldorf.

The Bruins, winners of 12 straight, improve to 27-8-1 overall on the season including a perfect 12-0 mark in MCAC competition. In their last 29 games Bellevue owns a record of 26-2-1 and has out-scored their opponents by a combined 175-42 margin.

Bellevue returns to play with a 5:00 p.m. non-conference double-header at Nebraska Wesleyan on Monday, April 13.

Game One: Bellevue 4, Oklahoma Wesleyan 2

Shelby Kindelin drove in all four Bellevue runs on the day including a two-out, two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh to give the Bruins a 4-2 victory over Oklahoma Wesleyan.

Trailing 2-1, back-to-back hits and a wild pitch put Eagle runners on second and third with just one out against reliever Taylor Mohler. A second wild pitch brought in the tying run from third. Mohler struck out the next two to move the tie game into the bottom of the seventh.

Sydney Robertson reached on a one-out bloop single to shallow left and moved to second on a sac bunt by Kendall Hendrix. A wild pitch advanced Robertson to third before Kindelin crushed a 2-0 pitch over the center field fence to give BU their 10th straight victory.

The Eagles struck first in the opening half inning. Courtney Gililland reached on an infield single to lead off the game and came in to score when Hannah Sharum's line drive to left was misplayed and rolled to the fence giving Oklahoma Wesleyan and early 1-0 lead on an unearned run.

Bellevue claimed their first lead in the bottom of the second when Kindelin lined a two-run triple into the right center gap to drive home Kaitlyn Goney and Sydney Robertson who had both singled earlier in the inning.

Starter Kelli Fisher limited Oklahoma Wesleyan to just two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out two and recording 13 ground ball outs in 6.1 innings. In 0.2 innings of relief, Mohler picked up the victory to improve to 13-5 on the year.

Game Two: Bellevue 8, Haskell 0 (5 Innings)

Taylor Mohler struck out 12 (all swinging) on the way to pitching a complete game no-hitter as Bellevue defeated Haskell 8-0 in five innings. For Mohler it was her second win of the day as she improves to 14-5 in the circle on the year.

Bellevue opened the scoring on an RBI-groundout by Michaela Miller. Sayde Woten led off the inning with a triple down the right field line and good situational hitting by Miller brought her in.

BU added two runs on to their lead an inning later with Shelby Kindelin driving in Kaitlyn Goney with a sac fly and Ashley Gigax sending a deep drive over the center field fence to make it 3-0.

An insurance run came home in the fifth on Miller's RBI-single to plate Woten who led off the inning with a walk. Bellevue put the game away in the bottom of the fifth, scoring four runs, all with two outs, to induce the 8-run rule.

Game Three: Bellevue 8, Waldorf 0 (5 Innings)

After a four day break Bellevue put Waldorf away with a 6-run fifth to give the Bruins an 8-0, 5-inning victory over the Warriors.

(Tuesday) Bellevue wasted no time opening the scoring with Ashley Gigax driving a two-run homer to right for an early 2-0 Bruin lead. The game was suspended in the top of the third with BU leading 2-0 due to a medical emergency.

(Saturday) The Bruins doubled their advantage in the home half of the fifth when Shelby Kindelin matched Gigax with a two-run home run of her own to right center. Back-to-back two-out doubles by Sayde Woten and Courtney Schendt and an RBI-single by Michaela Miller provided the Bruins with four additional runs to give BU an 8-0 run-rule victory.

Mohler picked up her third win of the afternoon, firing another complete game shutout, her fifth of the season, to improve to 15-5 on the year.
