MCAC Standings

McPHERSON, Kan. -- The Bellevue University softball team split a pair of games Saturday at the MCAC Crossover, shutting out Haskell Indian Nations University, 19-0, before falling to No. 23-ranked Central Baptist College, 3-0. 

The Bruins moved to 24-7 on the season and 6-1 in the MCAC. The loss to CBC snapped the Bruins' 16-game winning streak and marked only the second time this season that BU has been shut out.

Bellevue will host Grand View University on Tuesday, April 9, in a 3 p.m. doubleheader at Hall of Fame Fields. 

Bellevue 19, Haskell 0
Taylor Mohler tossed a one-hitter and the Bruins pounded out a season-high 19 hits en route to the 19-0 win in five innings over Haskell.

Amanda Neumann went 4-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs as six Bruins registerd multiple hits in the contest.

Katie Tew drove in four runs, going 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored. Augusta Ratliff finished 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs, and three runs scored.

Mohler improved to 8-3 on the season, giving up one hit, while striking out nine and walking none in five innings of work.

Central Baptist 3, Bellevue 0
Central Baptist used two home runs, while limiting the Bruins to four hits as the Mustangs snapped Bellevue's 16-game winning streak with a 3-0 shutout in the final game of the tournament. 

Neither team scored until a solo homer by Jordon Jones gave the Mustangs a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning. 

Central Baptist increased the lead to 3-0 on a two-run homer by Tracy Ratliff in the top of the seventh inning. 

Neumann suffered the loss, falling to 8-2 on the season, giving up three hits while striking out 11 and walking none in seven innings.
