FARMERS BRANCH, Texas -- The Bellevue University softball team fell to 0-4 on the season after suffering a pair of losses Saturday at the Saint Gregory's Tournament, losing 8-3 to Southern Nazarene University in the opener, before falling 5-4 in eight innings to Southwestern (Kan.) College in BU's final game of the tournament.

The Bruins head to Florida March 2-9 to participate in a pair of tournaments, the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Panama City Beach, Fla. and the National Training Center Spring Games in Clermont, Fla.

Southern Nazarene 8, Bellevue 3
The Bruins got out of the gate quickly, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning on back-to-back home runs by Amanda Neumann and Brooke Ellis. SNU countered with a two-run homer by Amy Madden in the bottom half of the first.

The Storm took the lead for good in the fourth inning, scoring four runs on four hits.

SNU added a pair of runs in the fifth, highlighted by Madden's second home run of the game.

Southwestern (Kan.) 5, Bellevue 4 (8 innings)
The Bruins dropped a heartbreaker in the finale, falling 5-4 in eight innings to Southwestern College, who picked up its first win of the season.

Using the international tiebreaker rule in the eighth inning, the Moundbuilders loaded the bases before Reagan Luedtke's single drove in the winning run.

Neumann went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two doubles to key the Bruin offense, which stranded 10 baserunners in the loss.
