KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced today that the Bellevue University softball team was named a 2010-11 NAIA Scholar Team.
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The BU softball team finished the year with a team GPA of 3.22.
The Bruins concluded the 2011 season with an overall mark of 32-19 and a 12-0 record in the MCAC. BU advanced to the NAIA National Softball Tournament for the second straight season and fifth time in school history.
