CLERMONT, Fla. -- For the third-consecutive day, the Bellevue University softball team split a pair of games at the National Training Center Spring Games, falling to Urbana (Ohio) University, 13-4, before rebounding with a 12-5 win over the University of St. Francis (Ill.).

The Bruins (3-6) will conclude their Florida trip on Saturday with games against Clarke at 1:30 p.m. and Webber International at 3:30 p.m.

Urbana 13, Bellevue 4
Urbana took an early 6-0 lead in the second inning and never looked back. The Blue Knights used a five-run sixth inning to make the final 13-4. Katie Malloy led the Bruins at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Amanda Neumann suffered the loss.

Bellevue 12, St. Francis 5
Trailing 5-0 through four innings, the Bruins plated 12 runs on 13 hits and took advantage of three St. Francis errors over the final three innings to grab the 12-5 win. The victory avenged a 7-2 loss to the Fighting Saints last Tuesday.

Kathryn Wardian and Malloy both collected three hits in the victory and Allie Bartley picked up her first win of the season. Wardian had a single, double, home run, and four RBIs. Six Bruins collected at least two hits in the win.
