Gansz, Guyle named to NAIA all-state team
Bellevue University senior catcher Kendra Gansz and junior short stop Jessica Guyle were both named to the Omaha World-Herald NAIA all-Nebraska softball team announced today.

The 2010 Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year, Gansz paced the Bruins to an undefeated (10-0) conference season and to a 32-17 overall record as Bellevue advanced to the NAIA National Championships for the fourth time in school history.

A two-time first team all-conference selection, Gansz recorded a 29-game hitting streak from Feb. 28 to April 16 and collected a school-record 21 doubles on the season. She was named the MCAC Player of the Week on April 11 after batting .450 in six games with two doubles, two home runs and an .850 slugging percentage

Gansz batted .364 on the year with 21 doubles, five home runs and a team-leading 43 RBIs. She successfully stole eight bases in eight attempts

An excellent student, Gansz garnered MCAC and Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.

The Bruins' lead-off batter and starting short stop, Guyle earned first team all-MCAC honors and was named the MCAC Newcomer of the Year. She led the team with a .400 batting average, 28 stolen bases, 42 runs scored, and three triples and was second on the squad with 13 doubles.

Guyle had 24 multi-hit games on the season and registered a season-high 10-game hitting streak in late March.

Junior third baseman Allie Bartley, senior pitcher Alissa Crumley, sophomore first baseman Brooke Ellis, and sophomore center fielder Erica McCoy all earned honorable mention recognition.
