Falcon joins BU Cross Country staff

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University cross country coach Craig Christians announced today the addition of Simon Falcon to the Bruins' coaching staff for the upcoming season.

For the last two years Falcon has served as the head cross country and assistant track coach at Millard South High School.

Falcon is a 2014 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Kearney – and 2009 graduate of Bellevue West High School – where he earned a Bachelor's of Arts in Education with secondary endorsements in both History and Spanish.

In coaching the Patriots he helped mentor a two-time girls cross country state champion and a boys cross country state medalist. In 2016, Falcon guided both the boys and girls teams at Millard South to the State Meet.

As an assistant in track he coached a four-time gold medalist in the girls 1600m and 3200m events as well as coaching a boys state track medalist. Additionally, he coached numerous individual qualifiers in all distance races in both of his seasons at Millard South.

Falcon holds a USA Track and Field Level I Certification in Coaching and has gained additional coaching experience by serving as a volunteer with the Bellevue Breeze Junior Olympic Club.

As an athlete, Falcon earned three varsity letters in cross country and another in track at Nebraska-Kearney. During his high school days at Bellevue West he qualified for three state cross country meets helping guide the team to finishes of third, seventh, and fourth place.

The Bruins open their inaugural season on Saturday, Sept. 1 when they venture to St. Joseph, Mo. for the Missouri Western Invitational.
