MADISON, S.D. -- After competing in his first-ever event as a Bruin, Saba Khvichava has been named the North Star Athletic Association Men's Track Athlete of the Week for his performance at last weekend's Scott Nisely Memorial on the Doane University campus. 

Khichava won the mile race, beating out 60 other competitors in a time of 4:19.14. That mark is currently the 11th fastest time this season in the NAIA and meets the "B" national meet qualifying standard. It also broke the school record by over 20 seconds. 

The Bruins return to action this Friday, January 20, when they travel to UNL's Devaney Center for the Prairie Wolf Invitational hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan.
