Sissoko recognized as CAC Player of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University junior Oumar Sissoko (Bamako, Mali) has been named the Continental Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in BU's two games last week, it was announced by the CAC office on Monday afternoon.

Sissoko, who also earned the honor on Aug. 30, scored a pair of goals as Bellevue squared off with a pair of ranked opponents last week. He scored goals against both #24 McPherson and #6 Mid-America Christian.

Coming off the bench, his header against McPherson proved to be the game-winner in the 73rd minute. He followed up that performance by scoring on his only shot against MACU, tying the game at 1-1 midway through the second half. Sissoko currently ranks in the NAIA's Top 25 in both goals (6) and game-winning goals (2).

The Bruins (6-2-1) travel to Salina, Kan. on Saturday, Sept. 25 where they face Kansas Wesleyan University (1-4-1) at 7:30 p.m. from the Graves Family Sports Complex.
