Bruins unable to solve Warriors defense

FOREST CITY, Iowa -- Guilherme Alencar scored in the 54th minute to give Waldorf University a 1-0 victory over the Bellevue University men's soccer team on Thursday evening at Bolstorff Field.

Waldorf: 8-5-2

Bellevue dominated the stat sheet, racking up a 12-3 advantage in shots for the game, including a 4-1 edge in shots on goal and a 6-2 tally on corner kicks.

Waldorf made their lone attempt on target count as Guilherme Alencar scored off a pass from Henrique Lucas to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute.

Less than10 minutes later the Warriors saw Karolis Venys sent off with a red card and were forced to play a man down for the final 26:37 but Bellevue was unable to capitalize.

Following the sending off of Venys, Bellevue tallied the game's final nine shots – putting two on frame – but Raul Guillamon-Bejar was up to the task as Waldorf held on to escape with the victory.

Inaki Aldao, Ricky Reyes, Federico Umani Ronchi, and Finlay Bloodworth accounted for Bellevue's four shots on goal.

Bellevue closes out the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 2 against the same Waldorf side they saw today. Kick-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. from Papillion Landing with Senior Day ceremonies to precede the game.
