Erickson signs LOI with BU

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University men's soccer coach Mark Heath-Preston announced today the signing of Jaeger Erickson (Des Moines, Iowa/Southeast Polk HS) to a National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning in the fall of 2018.

Erickson is the son of Chad and Lanie Erickson and played high school soccer at Southeast Polk High School under head coach Hido Tica. As a senior Erickson served as team captain and scored seven goals with 10 assists for career totals of 10 goals and 15 assists. He also lettered in both volleyball and track and field in high school.

In addition to lacing up for Southeast Polk, Erickson also played club soccer for Iowa Rush under coach Kirk Artist. Erickson was named the MVP of his high school team and was a member of the Mid-West Presidents Cup Team.

Coach Heath-Preston on Erickson:

"Jaeger caught our eye at a few showcases last year and we see him being a perfect fit for us moving forward. It's great to have a player coming from Iowa and joining the other Bruins. We are very excited to see how he develops and the impact he will have on the upcoming season."

Erickson joins earlier signees in the 2018 class: Harry Atkins (Norwich, Norfolk, England), Alexis Martinez (Omaha, Neb.), Kortlan Franke (Gretna, Neb.), Emil Gebelhoff (Cologne, Germany), Jon Stublla (Berlin, Germany), and Marvin Ramirez (Omaha, Neb.).

This past season the Bruins posted an overall mark of 8-7-2 (4-0-0 NSAA) en route to securing their fourth-straight regular-season league title and reaching the semifinals of the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Tournament.
