NAIA Release

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- For the fourth-straight season the Bellevue University men's soccer team is represented on the NAIA All-American team. Senior midfielder Edgar Guzman (Aurora, Colo.) was named an Honorable Mention selection as announced today by the NAIA.

Guzman led the Bruin in goals this season with seven while ranking in a tie for second with two assists. He was previously recognized as the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Player of the Year.

In two seasons at Bellevue, Guzman was a two-time first team all-NSAA selection and also a member of the first team all-A.I.I. this season. During his Bruin career Guzman totaled 13 goals and seven assists, appearing in 34 games during that span. Of his 13 career goals, three went for game-winners.

Guzman joins Manuel Lira (2014), Alan Carr (2015), and Rob Smith (2016) as honorable mention All-Americans over the past four seasons.

The Bruins finished the 2017 season with an 8-7-2 overall record and captured their fourth-straight regular-season league championship with a perfect 4-0-0 mark in NSAA play.
