Lastra, Narvaez net weekly soccer honors
POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- Sophomore forward David Lastra and senior goalkeeper Sebastian Narvaez helped the Bellevue University men's soccer team sweep the weekly MCAC honors for the week ending Oct. 10. Lastra was named the MCAC Offensive Player of the Week and Narvaez earned MCAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades.

It marked the second time this season each player has earned the honor. The duo helped the Bruins to a 3-0 record on the week, extending the Bruins' winning streak to four games.

Lastra scored two game-winning goals last week for the Bruins, including a goal with 47 seconds remaining in the second overtime that give BU a dramatic 2-1 win over previously undefeated Southwestern Christian College. His other game-winner came in a 2-1 win over Morningside College last Tuesday (Oct. 5).

Narvarez recorded one shutout and 11 total saves in the Bruins' three victories. He is currently  8-3 on the season with a 1.28 goals against average and five total shutouts.

The Bruins will head to Houston, Texas later this week for a pair of non-conference contests. Bellevue will battle the University of St. Thomas at 7 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 15) and will take on Huston-Tillotson University at 1 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 17).
