OMAHA, Neb. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team scored a 2-0 victory over the University of Great Falls to claim the MCAC-DAC-FAC Independent Tournament title Saturday at Tranquility Park. The Bruins received an automatic berth into the NAIA National Tournament with the victory.
Bellevue improved to 13-3-1 on the season. Great Falls ended their season with a 15-5 mark.
Freshman James Evison scored on a penalty kick in the 24th minute to open the game's scoring.
Freshman Graeme Eaglesham made it 2-0 with a header in the box off a slick pass from Mark Heath-Preston at 34:27.
Junior Sebastian Narvaez notched nine saves while recording his fifth shutout of the season and improving to 13-3-1 overall.
Great Falls held a 14-11 advantage in shots and a 9-6 margin in shots on goal.
Pairings for the NAIA National Tournament will be announced on Monday, Nov. 16.
