Bellevue shuts out Jamestown, 5-0

OMAHA, Neb. -- Junior Mark Heath-Preston and freshman Graeme Eaglesham each scored a pair of goals to lead the Bellevue University men's soccer team to a 5-0 shutout over Jamestown College in the first semifinal of the MCAC-FAC-DAC Independent Tournament Friday afternoon at Tranquility Park.

The Bruins improved to 12-3-1 on the season while Jamestown ended their season with a 2-16-1 overall mark.

Heath-Preston scored the first goal of the game at 7:06 on a header in the box off a pass from James Blair.

Eaglesham scored on a shot from five feet out at 41:18 after a cross from in front of the box by James Evison.

Heath-Preston scored his team-leading 12th goal of the season 90 seconds later on a header in the box to make it 3-0 Bruins at the intermission. Senior Milan Ivanovic was credited with the assist.

Eaglesham registered his second goal in the 50th minute from 20 yards out near the top of the box after a pass from Ivanovic.

Senior Casey Friend completed the game's scoring when he found the back of the net at 70:23 on a bullet in the box from 12 feet out after a pass from Alex Zimmer.

Bellevue will play in the championship game on Saturday at 4 p.m. against third-seeded Great Falls, who defeated No. 2-seed Westminster, 1-0 in the other semifinal. The winner will receive an automatic berth to the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship.
