Bruins shut out Central Christian, 5-0

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team scored three goals in just over three minutes en route to a 5-0 shutout over Central Christian College Saturday afternoon in MCAC action at Tranquility Park.

Senior Mo Travis recorded a pair of goals and an assist and freshman Michael Conchie scored two goals to lead the Bellevue attack.

The Bruins concluded the regular season with an 11-3-1 overall record and a 3-0 league mark. Central Christian dropped to 6-11-1 and 1-2 in the MCAC.

Junior James Evison scored with just 31 seconds remaining in the first half to give the Bruins' a 1-0 advantage at the intermission. Evison scored on a half bicycle following a nifty pass from senior Casey Friend. It was Evison's second goal of the season.

Conchie scored two minutes into the second half off a long pass from the left sideline by Travis, to give the Bruins' a two-goal advantage.

Travis scored 30 seconds later following a shot by Julio Estrada that deflected off of Tiger goalkeeper Dustin Marsh, leaving empty net.

Conchie collected his second goal on a header in the box off a corner kick from senior Milan Ivanovic at 67:07.

Travis ended the game's scoring with a shot in the box off a pass from Evison at 84:05.

Sebastian Narvaez and Mike Minchew combined for the shutout.

Bellevue will host the MCAC-FAC-DAC Independent Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13-14 at Tranquility Park. Game times and pairings have yet to be determined.
