Grand View squeaks past Bruins, 2-1

OMAHA, Neb. -- Grand View's Jonny MacAdam scored with less than eight minutes remaining in the game to give the Vikings a 2-1 victory over Bellevue University in nonconference soccer action Wednesday night at Tranquility Park.

The Bruins fell to 10-3-1 on the season with the loss. Grand View improved to 11-5-2.

Grand View scored the only goal in the first half on a shot in the box from 17 yards out by Augustine Faiz in the game's 23rd minute. MacAdam was credited with the assist.

Mark Heath-Preston tied the game just 30 seconds into the second half on a header in the box off a pass from Leon Kita.

MacAdam scored the game-winner for the Vikings on an unassisted shot from inside the box at 82:07.

Bellevue outshot Grand View 15-8 and held a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal.

Sebastian Narvaez took the loss, dropping to 10-3-1 on the season, while recording two saves.

Bellevue will host Central Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31 in the final regular season home match of the 2009 season.
