Bruins cruise to 5-0 win over William Jewell

OMAHA, Neb. -- Senior Mo Travis recorded a pair of goals and junior Mark Heath-Preston collected a goal and two assists to lead the Bellevue University men's soccer team to a 5-0 shutout over William Jewell College in non-conference action Tuesday night at cold and rainy Tranquility Park.

The five goals scored by Bellevue was the second-highest total for the Bruins this season and the most since Bellevue's 6-1 season-opening win at Doane on Aug. 26.

Bellevue improved 8-2-1 on the season with the win while the Cardinals fell to 8-5.

Heath-Preston scored on a pass from James Evison in the box in the 25th minute to get the Bruins on the board.

Travis scored at 33:14 on an assist from Ryan Cantello to push the Bellevue margin to 2-0.

Graeme Eaglesham extended the Bruin margin to 3-0 at 47:41with a long shot from 30 yards out that passed over the Cardinals' goalkeeper Kyle Heiman. Heath-Preston was credited with the assist.

Travis' second goal of the game came off a header pass in the box from Heath-Preston in the 52nd minute to make it 4-0.

James Evison's penalty kick at 53:52 found the back of the net to give the Bruins a five-goal lead and the final 5-0 margin.

Junior goal keeper Sebastian Narvaez improved to 8-2-1 on the season in 64 minutes in goal.

Bellevue held a 23-8 advantage in shots and an 8-2 edge in shots on goal.

The Bruins will host Morningside College next Wednesday, Oct. 21, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Tranquility Park.
