Bruins complete road trip with 3-1 win over Westminster

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- The 23rd-ranked Bellevue University men's soccer team improved to 4-1 on the season following a 3-1 victory at Westminster College Sunday afternoon.
 
Westminster dropped to 3-4-1 after the loss.

Bellevue outshot the Griffins 19-9 in the match and held a 12-6 advantage in shots on goal.

Junior Kyle Kirkland scored his first goal of the season in the game's eighth minute on a header off a corner kick from Tom White.

Westminster tied the game four minutes into the second half on a goal by Bobby Ward following a scramble in the box after a corner kick by Dennis Sellis.

Ryan Cantello helped the Bruins regain the lead, finding the back of the net from 35 yards out on a pass from Mark Heath-Preston in the game's 64th minute,  giving BU a 2-1 advantage.

Senior Casey Friend completed the game's scoring with a shot that landed inside the far post from 20 yards out at the 84:25 mark.

Junior Sebastian Narvaez improved to 4-1 on the season recording five saves while playing all 90 minutes of the match.

The Bruins will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 16, when they travel to Hastings, Neb. for a 7 p.m. contest against No. 23-ranked Hastings College.
