No. 23 Bruins squeak past Embry-Riddle, 2-1

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Freshman Graeme Eaglesham scored a goal and added an assist to lead the 23rd-ranked Bellevue University men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) Friday afternoon on the campus of Westminster College.

The Bruins improved to 3-1 on the season while the Eagles fell to 3-2-1 overall.
 
Junior Mark Heath-Preston started the game's scoring in the 30th minute on a pass from Eaglesham. It was the only scoring of the first half as Bellevue took a 1-0 lead at the intermission.

Embry-Riddle tied the game up seven minutes into the second half on a rebound from six yards out by Scott Larson. Felipe Ferreira was credited with the assist.

Bellevue quickly answered less than a minute later with Eaglesham's game-winning shot from the top corner from about 35 yards out to complete the game's scoring in the 54th minute.

BU held a slight 14-13 advantage in shots and an 8-5 edge in shots on goal.

Junior Sebastian Narvaez improved to 3-1 on the season, recording four saves in the win.

The Bruins will play at  Westminster (Utah) on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in Salt Lake City.
