OMAHA, Neb. -- Freshman Graeme Eaglesham's header in the box with 1:33 remaining in the game gave the Bellevue University men's soccer team a 1-0 win over Iowa Wesleyan in the home opener for the Bruins Saturday afternoon at Tranquility Park.
The game's lone goal came off a corner kick from Milan Ivanovic to Kyle Kirkland who quickly passed the ball to Eaglesham.
Bellevue improved to 2-0 on the season with the win. The Tigers fell to 0-1 after their season opener.
The Bruins controlled the action for most of the game but could not find the back of the net until Eaglesham's late-game heroics. Bellevue outshot IWC 23-5 and held an 8-2 edge in shots on goal.
The Tigers' Troy Osborne recorded seven saves in the match.
Junior goal keeper Sebastian Narvaez picked up his first shutout of the season, improving to 2-0 overall.
Bellevue returns to action next Saturday, Sept. 5 with a 7 p.m. contest at Graceland in Lamoni, Iowa.
