Bruins second at IWU Fall Invite; Two in contention at Nebraska Intercollegiate

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- Baptiste Bonnet and Rodrigo Navarrete are tied for third and the Bellevue University men's golf team is two shots behind tournament leader Marian University after two rounds of play at the Indiana Wesleyan University Fall Invitational.

Bonnet (E) opened the day by shooting 3-over in the first round before carding a tournament-best 3-under second round.

Navarrete (E) tied for the first round lead with a 2-under first round before slipping to 2-over in the second.

Marian's Matthew Chapman (-4) is three strokes ahead of teammate Jay Williams for the individual lead.

Bellevue's top four golfers are each inside the top 10. Floris-Jan Oosterhof is tied for sixth at 1-over and Alex Zillig is tied for eighth at 3-over. Hugo Ronnberg is just outside the top 10, in a seven-way tie for 11th, place at 5-over.

Marian (E) is three strokes ahead of the second place Bruins (+3). Bellevue led after the first round by a stroke, but Marian posted a 2-under second round to slip ahead of BU.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- Totte Uhlan and Hugo Brandt are among six golfers tied for third place after the first round of play at the Nebraska Intercollegiate.

Northeast Community College's Santiago Valdes is the clubhouse leader at 2-under, one stroke ahead of Nate Vickery of Nebraska Wesleyan, and two strokes ahead of a host of even-par golfers.

Bellevue is the defending tournament champion at the Nebraska Intercollegiate. The Bruins are tied for seventh overall.

Brandt birdied holes 1, 6 and 7 to offset a trio of bogeys while Uhlan racked up six birdies in an up and down round.

Northeast holds the team lead at 6-over. The Hawks are a stroke ahead of each Hastings College and Midland University.

Brendon Walker (+9) and Evan Macke (+10) are tied for 49th and 51st, respectively.
